All right, welcome back The Trilateral podcast episode 98. How are we doing? Happy birthday, Hunter. Yeah, happy birthday. Thank you. Appreciate it. Appreciate it. You have enough drink, though? Yeah, finally. Fairly. You can't be president yet, though. No, not yet. How old do you got to be president again? Is it 45? 32. 32. Oh, 32. She is. Okay. All right, F1 happened. Yeah, I had a race in Canada. We can recap 35. Sorry, 35. What? 5. 35. Oh, for the president thing. I was like, what are you talking about? No, it's episode 35. We're going back in time. We're still on that. All right. F1. Canada. Yeah, it's a little crazy. A little crazy. Personally, I think it was the best race of the season so far. We've seen. Oh, 100%. But it was definitely fucking crazy. There's some, some racing going on up there in the front. Some racing we haven't seen in a while against two particular gentlemen. That was a very exciting to see. I think they thought it was very exciting to that it happened. Just seeing their reaction post race and everything. But yeah, overall, very good. There is a consensus though that. As far as a televised. How it was directed that actual race from a televised perspective. It was the worst of the season. Really? Yeah. I, as I was watching, I had some fives like, man, this seems like, why aren't we seeing this or what happened there? Why didn't we see this? And it was very piss-poor on like re-breaths and what happened? And just switching from. What's going on here? There it was. Was it different because it was on like Netflix and shit like that or what? Because I think that was just, it was the same, it should have been the same. Broadcast regardless if you're watching an on Netflix or Apple. I ended up watching an on Netflix this go. It was easier to get to I feel. I think their intros and their. Pre-avertizements. Are so much better than what Apple has done. I really wish Netflix would have got it honestly. Yes, Penn didn't have a. Netflix should have got it. But. I think Apple TV is kind of saliently manned. If it was on something like Netflix, I think it would get a lot more viewership. I imagine I'd like to see the raw data numbers. I'm sure they've taken a hit, especially in the US. It'd be interesting to see that raw data. How has fucking Apple TV ball? I got it only because of this. And well, you have an app TV is like fucking crazy. Yeah, it is known my perspective on that. Yeah, it's but. I don't even know what it's I don't even know what Apple TV is guys. Can you just get it on any TV like is it app? Yeah, it's the same same thing as it's like Netflix or prime or any of those. I will say it's it's cheaper than most others, but. What is it a month? I was like I think it's 1299 prior pre pre tax. 1299. Netflix is shot up. I think that's the standard one is 20 now or 1990. I'm not like so. I don't even know on Netflix. I remember when that was between 799. Yeah, yeah. I remember you had to fucking get it on it. Was a disc to start off with? Yeah, it was a disc. I think I still got one of those floating around here. Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, zoom out. Netflix started on a disc. How the fuck did that even work? Mm hmm. What's that? Nope. So what was it just fucking movies on the disc then? It would still have to be. You start to be like linked, but it was before all these smart TVs and shit like that. What the fuck? Yeah, it was a special disc for game console so you could stream. You got one of those? I have at least one somewhere around here. I think it got tucked away with some of my old video game stuff and. Yep. Because I think they had like specific ones for like each system. I'd recall properly like the Wii, the PlayStation. Yeah, bro, the Wii bro, the Wii is such a good fucking console. It was ahead of its time. So underrated. Wii is not ahead of its time. The PSP was ahead of its time. That one was definitely ahead of its time and they were playing in a field they'd never had played with. Yeah. I've heard they're talking about bringing it back though for next this next round of consoles. A little bit. I'll be fucking $607 and fucking dollars like Nintendo does with their switch. They've already boasted possibly the rumors. It's gonna be somewhere between 6 and 800 for PS6. Well, for the PS6. Okay, I'll get back to the PS. The PSP, I don't know if there's been too many speculation on that one yet, but. When is the PS6 supposed to come out? It is. Early is next fall. Damn. Why couldn't that lined up with GTA tough? That would have been cool if they could have done that. Don't give GTA any fucking ideas. Yeah, I told you about both fucking. I told you I spoke too fucking soon. They've already started not pushing back anymore or so. That game's going to be wild. I probably will not get it, but it will be wild. That's crazy. Definitely going to get it. For PS6, they can just release Red Dead Redemption 3 with it. Now that now we're talking pre-orders out. I would, I'd pre-order it right now, but. But I guess back to the race. A little tangent there. It was a sprint weekend also, so. Short practice and then right into sprint qualifying. I didn't watch this sprint race. Or anything. But, um, Russ ended up taking. Yeah, just. I ended up taking this sprint race. Yeah, he did. Yeah, Russell, Wando, Kimmy. And then it rounded out with Oscar, Charles Lewis, Max and Linbalm, where your point stickers from the sprint. Outside of that, we went into qualifying. Your. Pull. The whole setter was Russell, followed by Kimmy and then Lando, Oscar, Lewis, Max, Isaac, Charles, Linbalm and, Kyle, Alapinto, we tapped in for starting grid. Interesting start, I would say. We had three formation laps. Um, they did the formation, lined up and then they. The lights just stood on and two cars, like two or three cars moved and then they. Said, oh, we'll do another formation lap. Well, during that time period, something went wrong with. The. Rookies. Yeah, the rookies are car. So it wouldn't even start or go. So as that formation lap was going, they pushed him back into the pit. And then they ordered another formation lap. What the hell? So after the three formation laps. Um, they sat and took off prior to that. It was raining. It would have been like a raining fresh and it was light rain, but it was a little bit more dark than it was. I think it was, I think the first one, I think it was a little bit dark. I think it was a little bit dark. I think it was a little bit dark. I think it was a little bit dark. I think it was a little bit dark. I think it was a little bit dark. I think it was a little bit dark. I think it was a little bit dark. I think it was a little bit dark. It was kind of no shit. Um, two of them happened to be the McClearns. Uh, the actual um, start. Land over the shop pass them and. Went on down the road a little bit, but they are, they pitted them pretty quickly to get those intermediates off. Um, and that pushed, I want to say. I think Oscar pitted first. Yeah, I think Oscar did. And then, um, Land will follow shortly thereafter. But all those guys pitted pretty quickly and, um, slicks back on by that point it was kind of a back and forth with russle and Kimmy. Lewis was right up there with them for most of that battle. Max got I think pushed back a little bit in the star but he was you know pecking right back up nipping at the heels and I believe it was a little lap. About lap 29 and Kimmy and russle were just back and forth you know back and forth just hacking each other and there was a few close moments you know few lockups some going wide to avoid so it was it was looking to be a pretty big battle they were riding hard like I when the pit windows started opening for their tires because they had softs. I was quite surprised they kind of lasted as long as they did. There was a there was no official safety cars but there was at least three virtual safety. Amongst where Piaf Street ended up coming back into the midfield after he had to pit early to switch those intermediates he ended up kind of spearing Alvin which ended up putting him out that was lap 11. Piaf Street had to he did take a 10 second time penalty for that. He had to go back into pit to get his nose comb replaced. So you had you already had two out there a few laps after that or about 13ish laps after that. Fernando ended up retiring that was due to a seed issue. Looking back at some of the racing footage he was actually driving one handed for most of that race that he was out there because he would take the other hand and press it against his thigh to like stop the vibration or whatever was causing discomfort in the seat. And then just a few laps after that was lap 29. I don't think there was no contact or anything but it was just a it was like a lockup and then George went flying off the track, came back on the track and basically the power unit went so hit it was just done. He was obviously quite perturbed, punch steering wheel and then he took off the safety collar to get out and just through it. Thankfully it landed in front of the car and it bounced off into the track for the race line. There's a little childish on his part. He ended up I don't think he got a time penalty but he did get I think a fine for it. Yeah. After that you know Kimmy just kind of it was off into the sunset. You know, Hampton was right there behind him but there's just no contention. Max had gotten up past him during all this and then it was probably the last handful laps. They were battling back and forth and Lewis took him on the outside which was just amazing but it was good to see them battle. I actually have a race where it wasn't just one side where one could just fly past the other one. It was a little battle here and there and Lewis was able to get past him. Max didn't really challenge it much after that. His tires were falling off a bit. It looked like Charles was probably going to meet up with them but he kind of had a scary. I don't believe it was a complete spin but he was going sideways at one point. He was able to catch it and save it. Overall I think it was a good race. There was a lot of back and forth even some of the mid had some decent overtakes and stuff along the way. I will say there was only four cars in the leading lap. So from position five on everyone was at least lapped once if not multiple time. Had a couple cars lapped four times. Lando actually ended up having to retire also. His was I believe it was a gearbox failure. Then Sergio, all of a sudden his right suspension arm just exploded. I think he was coming under one of the slow turns before the pit so he was able to right duck right down the pit lane. But yeah, it was boom gone. Right front tire just kind of flies into the cone and it's done so for him. It did look like he may have possibly contacted the wall just before that a little bit but he the track in Canada is pretty bouncy. It's got some rough areas. The curves are a little more aggressive and he was riding those curves pretty hard just prior to that so I think combination of that maybe brushing the wall slightly at probably fatigued it and then it just gave. So six cars did not five cars did not finish one did not start. And your podium though, Kimmy Lewis and Max were your top three followed by Charles and Isaac, Calapino six, Lawson seventh, Gasley eight, Science ninth and then Ali round out your top ten. Pretty cool podium I'd say. Yeah it was amazing to see this is his best his best Ferrari finish. It was Max's first podium of the year. They were up there with a young buck has one four races in a row. The youngest person to ever get their first four in a row. So he's just rocking it. Once George was out of the out there, it was his race. The only thing would have could have happened was maybe a reliability issue which thankfully for his sake it didn't happen but yeah Lewis they were they got trophies presented or all that and they did their champagne and then Lewis tapped the gentleman that was up there to receive the constructor trophies from Sadie's and said hey let's lift Kimmy up on her shoulders so they took the picture of them lifting them up on the shoulders and all that which was pretty neat. But yeah it was the overall I think it was a real good race. It was exciting it was definitely it wasn't really many slow parts. My only gripe would be yeah it could have been some of the replays and stuff could have been a little more. It would have added I think even more to the race. Honestly if we could saw those in better timings some we didn't even get to see but overall was pretty good race though. As far as standings team standings Mercedes is just blown it out 219 points Ferrari second with 147 and McLaren third with 106. Driver standings Kimmy obviously took a big lead 131 points George 88. Charles is 75 and third and then Lewis is in fourth with 72 for all. Now I'm looking ahead the next race is June 7th on its in Monaco. It will be interesting to see how these new regulated this new regulation of cars just drives in Monaco. It's not as top speed there and it's fast here less overtaking obviously. So it'll be interesting to see how these cars behave on this truck. How the racing overall is. It could be real interesting or it could be boring as hell maybe. TBD. Mercedes has one each race at this point. Pretty wild. New there are going to be good this year but I didn't think it was going to be just good for him. I think that covers up one news for now. Maybe one more tidbit. Cadillac is looking possibly already doing on a driver swap. So yeah. Hopefully done on but we'll see. We shall see. Next race, Monaco. Nice. That's a super bowl too. All right, NBA finals. We are pretty much all about wrapped up going into the championship. We are currently in the middle of the game. What is this game? Six against the third thunder in the Spurs. The Thunder lead the game series three two but currently right now Spurs have a 10 point lead in the third. So we'll see how that one wraps up tonight. Other than that, the next fuck the next just around a roll two series back to back where they just swept their opponents. The 111 11th Street game I'm pretty sure which is broken record in the playoffs since I was like the most since what what was they saying? Three what was the eighties or something like that last time that's happened? It's fucking crap. Yeah, they want 11th Street games that are 10th Street games from like that. They're on fire and they didn't just like beat the calves. They beat the shit out of the calves like every game. So I know a lot of it's hard to pick against the thunder. They got a well real well-rounded team but who knows it may not be the Thunder guys. It might be the Spurs in the next and I'd be fucking loving that. Yeah, I'd be happy with either team there. So as long as it's how Casey I'd like to see the next in the Spurs. I just want the next one. I think they deserve it. They're a really good fucking team. I think Jalen Pronson is a fucking he's a dog. That's how the NBA is wrapping up. We'll see how tonight ends. Be interesting to see a game seven in O.K.C. See what Webby can do. All right, so this past weekend we had a couple games in the hockey. Down to the West and the East Finals between Abelans and the Knights in the West. Well, just like the next did to the calves. The Knights did the Abelans. They'd bet that took them out four games straight. Nights look really good. Just I don't know. But kind of boring when you went four games straight. You know what I mean? Like you know, you can do no fucking series. Yeah. No one predicted that. No one did not. I don't think anyone saw. I do. Abelans was the best team out of the West. Yeah. Abelans was rocking out. So that's crazy. I mean, I love it. I'm the last go Knights all day, baby. But like God, that's crazy. You fall. I was not expecting that either. It's kind of crazy. I picked, you know what I mean? I did like Hurricanes and like obviously I would want the Knights, but I didn't think the Knights were going to even get there. It's pretty sick. But let me not get ahead of myself with the NHL because in the East we got Carolina and the Canadians. We got what we got. We get up five tomorrow. Yeah. Game five tomorrow. That's what it is. I was looking at it back. Game five tomorrow. CarriWyle leads a series three one. It is at Carolina. I could definitely see Carolina wrapping up the series here. Going into the finals, we're going to have the Knights in the Hurricanes be pretty electric with the way the Knights are playing right now and how Carolina, I think Carolina is the most well-rounded hockey team. I think they got the best team, but we'll see what the Knights can do. What a big good series. I'd like to play the win it all. Have you fucking sick doing the cup again? Literally fresh. Third time in nine seasons. For the Knights. They've made it to the standard. Yeah. Yeah. I got one. Yeah. That's what we got in the NHL and the NBA playoffs right around the corner from the finals. Getting ready for that. Other than that, we don't have any football news, right? Nothing really going on. I mean, not really paying much attention to it. Nothing, probably worth mentioning. All right. Bit. Women's and men's will cross finished of this past week. Oh, yeah. I didn't see that. What Northwestern won for the girls against UNC? That was a good game. And then Princeton beat Notre Dame. Did they win for the... Yeah, they didn't. And saw that they played. I didn't get to watch about it. I was looking at the ESPN and I saw that, I was like, oh damn, Princeton Notre Dame. Yeah, the girls. It was the first time the winning team actually won on their home turf. First time that ever happened. It was in Northwestern. We had to very first. It hasn't happened in many, many years. Let's just put it that. It was played in Northwestern. Yeah, it was played in Northwestern. Interesting. The championship games were all played there, which was kind of cool for the girls. It was a good hosting for them and then to go on to win it. Wow. Outside there, I think that's it. All right, you guys. Do you got another birthday shout out, right? Ashley's birthday. It was yesterday. Yeah, Ashley's birthday is yesterday and then a little bro's today. You're beautiful. Happy birthday, all. Until all goodnight. All right, episode 98. Thanks for listening. Peace. See you.
