All right welcome back episode 95 The Trilateral Podcast. What's up my brothers? How's it going? Um, finally had a race, right? Yeah. New. Um, kind of a warm. But I was just glad to see him racing, but I think it was a pretty good race. I'm sitting with the red, but whatever, dude. Yeah. Uh, so it was on top of the first race in five weeks. It was also a sprint week and so very consolidated practice schedule. But everyone seemed to get back on track. I don't, don't recall any really close calls or anything in practice or any of that stuff. It seemed to stay pretty clean. Sprint qualifying. We had a land, oh, Kimmy, I asked her as you top three going into that. I didn't watch the sprint race myself, but um, Papaya took both spots. So I wanted, uh, P.A.S.T.D. and then Charles came in third for the, um, sprint race. And then went right into qualifying, qualifying, uh, Kimmy ended up taking poll followed by max. First time he's been on the front row, the season. And then we had Charles, Lando and George to run out your, you top five for, uh, race qualifying. Coming to the starting of race. Uh, the first lap, really that first turn was just wild. Yeah. The starting of number of cars struggle with starting still, uh, to the point where Charles was at third, he just swept around. Max and Kimmy and took off with the lead. Um, Max was fortunate to even get out of the first turn. Uh, he knows how to drive a, a given credit to spin around. With pretty much the entire field behind you, let up, spin it back around and take off and come out of it clean wild. Um, Charlie, honestly, Charles could have been taken out too. Um, that, that could have been, we're talking millimeters and milliseconds and out of that first turn, we would add a totally different race. Wow, to the point where I got to think it probably would have took four or five cars with it, if it would have went that direction. Oh, definitely. Yeah, that would have been crazy. For the most part, the race. Pretty damn good, I'd say. Um, midfield had a lot of good battling, the top, you know, the top field did, uh, with Max spinning out, that kicked him back to, I believe, 16th. He chipped away at that quite well. He did take an early pit stop. Cause they kept a number of teams kept coming on like, oh, you know, X lap these turns, we're probably going to see some rain. That rain, honestly, never came. So I think that kind of played part in some of the strategies for certain teams. The gamble on them, hitting early, I think probably was the right call in their part, just the way the start of the race happened. He ended up taking the lead as pit stops and all that came into place. Ultimately though, um, they didn't pay off in the long haul. There was, um, he was trying to think what lap that was. We did have a one caution. And that was, or, um, it actually happened like within seconds to each other. So it covered under the same caution, um, had your, uh, clipped the inside wall of the chicane. And then sequentially right after that just crashed nose first into the next wall. So he was done, um, very, uh, obviously disappointed with himself. I think it took him minutes to get out of the car because he just kept punching the steering wheel. Out of frustration. Um, and then just a few seconds in quint, um, cadence of that, uh, Pierre Gazzley ended up on the barriers. No one really knew what happened until, you know, replays happened and now it's kind of like, what the hell, you know, so on and so forth. The replay actually showed that Pierre and Liam were vying for positions and, um, Liam was slightly ahead, I believe. And the front wheels of Pierre hit Liam's, uh, Pierre Gazzley actually flipped, um, enrolled back upright and actually ended up in the barriers that way. So yeah, he actually went over, uh, sideways roll over basically. Um, that was pretty wild. But sequentially or because of that, um, obviously Isaac was done. Pierre was done. Liam, I think, took some damage from that collision. Uh, he ended up being done and then it was a few laps later or it might have been during that caution, uh, Nico Hall-Kinberg ended up retiringing. Um, so we had four DNFs for the race. Things got back underway. Um, sequence of events here, I think, and through, uh, number of the pit stops started happening then. And really it was just a cadence of, you know, max did give back up to first, but it didn't last long. Um, both Mercedes were packing right back up there. Um, LeClair had a pretty good chance to kind of even doubt where it was Kimi Lando with him for your top three. And I think it was really like that second to last lap or last lap. Um, there was a little bit, I want to think there was a little bit of rubbing between Russell or was it no, was Oscar and LeClair. Um, and then right after that, once he got past LeClair, uh, LeClair spun out, saved it, um, he did end up hitting, um, the wall slightly, which I think caused the issues to the point where he ended up losing. Um, I think he dropped down to fifth by that point, um, because as the last turn happened, um, max passed him across the finish line. Um, so the race, your podium was Kimi. Um, LeClair, Lando and Oscar. Uh, that's Kimi's third win in a row. Um, he's just stacking the records, um, for Italian racers and young racers. So, um, pretty good for him, you know, McClellan, nice come back for them, especially how these first three, um, races have gone, um, Russell fourth, max fifth, Lewis six, um, after the race, um, Charles did finish fifth, or no, six, but he was, um, given a twenty-second penalty for, um, driving on the side of the track, um, multiple times through that last lap. Um, so I think something broke within that car, um, after he had collided with the wall slowly. And then we had a DQ, it's not saying it down here though, I thought there was something with the other body that he got disqualified for something, but maybe that didn't be the case, they might have fought that. Either way, he was out of points, but, um, it wasn't a grand slam for Kimi, but, um, it was another win. Obviously he extends his lead. Um, so your current driver's standings, Kimi with a hundred points, George with 80, and Charles with 59, and then team standings, Mercedes with a hundred and eighty Ferrari with a hundred and ten, and McLaren with 94. Um, driver of the race was, max, which, I'd say he did pretty good from where he fell down to and what happened and all that jazz, he was still fighting even with, um, taking such an early pit stop. But Mercedes, man, they've been on the top, every damn race, so it'll be interesting. Um, the next race is, um, in Canada, um, that'll be on the 24th of May, but it was nice to see him racing again. Overall, I think it was a pretty good race, um, little undertone just from, you know, some of the interviews and stuff of the racers that maybe there could have been some more changes, but for the most part, I think they were just happy to be out there racing. Um, it was hard to tell if any of those changes really did much. Um, yeah, maybe there was a little less flip flop and, you know, the starts didn't really seem much different. A number of teams struggled with the starts once again. Um, so yeah, I'll be interested to see how it, uh, unfold, um, what they, the teams bring to the table for the next races. And they're going to be on a break here again soon, right? Uh, as far as I know, I believe the, like, summer break is still, but that's usually not so, just wide time frame, but I've heard some rumours they might try to at least fill one of those missing racing gaps. I don't know how or when, but, um, because you have the next ones in Canada. And then they go to Monaco, then Barcelona. So, right now, I'm not really seeing that big gap. So maybe it won't be as much of a large gap as we've seen in the past, but we'll see all the rest of the season pans out, but Friari's kind of on a roll right now. So, Marari? Well, sir, Mercedes. Yes, sir. That's Friari team. Shit. I still think they could buy for that second place, especially when you get some things figured out, but their pace just didn't really seem to be there race wise. And then my clearing looked pretty strong too, so, um, we'll see how the rest of the season goes. I think that covers us for Formula One. All right. Um, what else we got going on in the sports world? We got playoffs going on, right guys? Mm-hmm. Yeah, we got the NBA playoffs and each of playoffs. I was, I was the NHL going, just keeping up with like the nights right now. It's all I'm really watching. I see Buffalo one last night, but, and I think they're doing well in their series. Yeah, Colorado's leading their 2-0 right now. Uh, um, Carolina is leading it to, oh, they're playing right now too. And they are winning. Or no, they've. Yeah, Carolina's playing right now is the end of the second, about to go to the 2-0. Yeah. Um, and then game 2 for the Sabers tomorrow and the Vikings and Anaheim Play for game 3, which Anaheim won last night. So that's tight one, one right now. Yeah, that'll be a good one. Hopefully the nights can pull that one off, so. Mm-hmm. Yeah, I'm pulling for the nights in there. Colorado looks pretty strong. Um, Carolina's looking strong too. Uh, Carolina works really strong. Yeah. Vegas are Buffalo, probably might two choices right now. So. I'll be happy to see either one of those teams win it. Yeah, like see Buffalo take it at this point now. Buffalo would be pretty sick. What do we think about the, um, NBA playouts at the moment? You guys keeping up with any of that or no? Yeah, pistons just one game to the night, so they're up to already against the. Yeah, just one. So looking good. Uh, I really, really struggling. Yeah, see they struggled the other night and that's about the only ones I've really been keeping up with. Next are looking pretty dominant too though in the east. So the next. In the next. New York. I think they're looking pretty. I'm going to be sick. So they're up to 0 now and then Timberwell and Spurs are tied one one, which that's always a good series. I'd like to see Santonio pull that off against Minnesota. So I don't know. I think it's going to be hard for whoever to be OK. See, I think OK, see he's just could possibly repeat. Hmm. Sorry. I'd like to see two new teams in there though. I'd like to see like get Santonio back in there and get like the nicks and. So new teams in there, but pistons would be, I mean, it'd be crazy to see the pistons back in there. So. Yeah, would be next would be nice on that side for sure. Yeah. This is the next. Pull for like, but I don't think. I don't know. This one's going to be tough for him. Like especially if they lose, they lose, they lose, OK, see this can. It's going to be hard to come back to. Down to them is OK, see, swap it, swap their first round. Mm hmm. It would be interesting. The maker plan. They right now, right? Yeah. They were down. What's on the other, down by three. Oh, right now. So. Still in the first quarter. Yeah, there's still in the first. Yeah, there's still in the first. Yeah, there's still four minutes. I'm a first. I mean, we'll see how this one ends. I guess that if LA wins this one in OK, see, it should be pretty interesting for him, but they lose this one. It's going to be hard for them to come back down to. Yeah. So. That would agree. That's pretty much all I got for NBA and NHL playoffs. Yeah. Game two is getting serious. We're not game two round twos or whatever you call it, semi-final and shit like that. Yeah. Was there anything else you wanted to touch on? No, you said some about lacrosse, Chris. Yeah, he was pretty nice. No, he didn't get in the other night. Mm hmm. Now I was glad they were off from that. A lot of schools aren't off from that. Through their huddle system, but. No, that was cool when it was different. I liked it. It reminded me of like how the Adrian did their stuff when we were in school. Yeah. No, the D1. Men's and women's lacrosse championships are underway. I just wrapped up their like conference championships and all the first round will be this Saturday. Northwest range number one seed for the girls and then it is. I mean, what was the boys? No Notre Dame had it at one point. Really? Yeah, I think someone took it from them though. Um. Who was the careliner? Maybe. Why is it? No, it's Princeton. Notre Dame's two for the boys. Gotcha. Yes, you got for the boys. You have Princeton against Marist. I've been in Penn State against. Army West Point. And then Jacksonville, Notre Dame and then John Hopkins and Cornell. Wow. And actually got all the divisions going right now. The two and three are in there lacrosse finals. But yeah, Northwestern is your number one team for the girls right now. Oh, should be some good games though. Nice. I've been watching a few few here and there outside of that. Yeah, your girls bracket is. James Madison, Notre Dame, Florida, versus Denver, Jacksonville, versus Colorado. Clemson, versus Davidson, Stanford, versus Penn State, a Mercer, versus Michigan. And then Northwestern and Carolina, you're one in two teams for the girls. They get by week or they get to buy the first round. What's this start? Most of their, the first round games are starting tomorrow between three and 9 p.m. There's six games tomorrow for the girls. Gotcha. All this is being, I think both for the D1, they're actually playing at Northwestern. They're in Chicago. So they have all those teams. Yeah, I believe both are well. A lot of teams. Yeah, it'll be in our sense. That'd be interesting. But outside of that, I think that's all I got. All right. We got nothing else to add by the boom, by the being episode 95. You. I see us. So you're interested in. Bye!
