All right, episode 90, The Trilateral Podcast. How is it going, brothers? How's it going? How's it going? It's going. All right. It's a go. We got one. We got March Madness. We got Frozen Madness. Yeah. And then some football to talk about. Just like, you know, one little sliver, piece of news. Yeah. Just a little. All right. Well, F1, so Japanese, Grand Prix just happened this past weekend. Nice livery. I didn't really, I didn't watch all of it. I watched bits and pieces of it. Art craters kind of took president's that night. And I was already kind of whoops. I didn't stay up to finish the race or nothing. So.[MUSIC PLAYING] Did, did, did, did. So with that, for the most part of pretty low key race, there was some grumbling with the new regulations. Afterwards, there were one incident, the Hoss card driven by Oli. Had a approximately 50, 50 G impact with the wall. Jesus. It was an evasion maneuver. One of the cars had slowed down probably because their battery juice was used up. And they were trying to harvest. He came whipping around. It was a fast-speed turn, too. So he came whipping around avoiding the car. He took to the side of the track, went through the speed barriers on the turn and then wiped out and just nailed the tires, like no other. He was limping when he got out. I believe everything, he's fine just other than some bruising. But a couple made point that with these new regulations and what we're dealing with, this may not be the last time we see something like the just with the on and off of that battery and how you can use it. When you decide to harvest versus utilizing it, from the on track on board view, it didn't look horrible. But if you see the view from the stands or the cameraman where it, holy shit, man. It was like a split second. That's how fast he was ripping through there. And he wasn't like going too fast or nothing. It was just, unfortunately, what he had to do to avoid hitting another car, which probably would have been a lot worse at the speed he was going. He may have actually went airborne. So, wow. With that, that timed some pit stops a little odd. I'm trying to think someone at the top had just pitted. I want to say Russell had just pitted. So obviously, he lost a couple of positions in that time and the crash happened. So everyone else got free pit stops, basically. So that messed with his positioning a bit. Once again, off the start, Mercedes and McLaren just ripped by everyone. So, but in the end, Kimmy was able to get back up there and take the win, psych and enoroo. It's been-- last time an Italian has taken two wins in a row was 1953. And what makes these wins pretty special are both of these wins, back-to-back wins were grand slams. He was the pole position holder won the race and was the fastest car on the track. Wow. So-- A little live. Definitely, definitely heating up. He's looking-- Mercedes looks pretty-- once they get rolling in the race, they look pretty unbeatable. Obviously, McLaren was able to start a race. And as P.S. said, hey, when we actually start a race, we're pretty good. So Kimmy won the race, followed by Oscar and then Charles Repodium. And then to round out the top five was Russell and Lando. Louis finished six. We're stepping finish eight. Louis or Max has grown like no other. He just about the new regulations. And obviously, they're struggling to get things dialed so he can compete. Yeah. It's going to be a minute before they get their shit together. We're going to see these teams. I don't know. I'd like to see him get me at the top. It's kind of cool. Yeah, I don't mind. He's a good racer, a young racer. So it's good to see some new blood in there, mixing it up. And I'm surprised he took two this quick, but they're looking good. We had 17 cars on the leading lap, which is a good change. Definitely. Two car, obviously, Oli with the crash didn't finish. And then Lance, I believe, had issues. So he had to retire both Cadillac cars, for the race. They're still at the back, but they got some upgrades at this race. And then it sounds like they got a pretty heavy upgrade package come into the next race, which unfortunately, we do not have a race for the next five weeks. There will not be a race until Miami in May. Why is such a long break? Because the Saudi Arabia and-- Oh, they get canceled. Both of those races got canceled this month, because of the ugly conflict in the Middle East. So they-- right now, there has not been any indication that they're going to add races. Really? Yeah, right now, there hasn't been. There's been rumors that they were going to, but I just think with as much logistics, it's involved in the hard to add those. You get a fucking shortened season. Yeah, you're going to shorten season by two races, which that could-- that could be big. Obviously, we've seen last year and a few years back, it came down to the last race. So kind of sucks, because those are usually fun-- two fun races to watch, nice tracks and everything. But yeah, our next race will be Miami then. Wow. So F1's back, and it's gone for five weeks. So kind of lumber there. But update on the team standings, obviously, Mercedes is off to Strong Sturd. They're leading me. And I would not pick Mercedes to be at this spot right now. So some had Russell up there, but I wasn't to thought they would have out the gate, been like this. I figured it would have been kind of a four-way battle. I had McLaren. I did not expect them as-- one of their drivers had missed two races. It was just wild. But Mercedes leads the team standings with 135 points, Ferrari, in second with 90, and then McLaren in third with 46. Wow. And then Hass is number four.[LAUGHS] To the driver's standings, Kimi's leading 72 points, followed by George with 63, Charles with 49, Lewis with 41, and Landau with 25. Max is sitting down at number nine. That's tough. Yeah. And only six racers have not scored a point yet, which is kind of hitting miss as some of these teams have been. That's honestly not bad after three races, really. You're in for them? Yeah. Outside of that, I don't really believe there's much more to report. It's probably going to be-- I know some teams are doing tire testing, which I believe they stay in Japan to do that, because I heard Max was like, now I'm not sticking around for it. I'm heading home. So I think Yuki got to do the tire testing for Red Bull. And then, yeah, kind of see what happens over the next few weeks. Kind of a-- we're going to be too big a loss then, because unless they try to fill something in, they'll still have like the somewhere break time period. So yeah.[INAUDIBLE] Now that's all for Formula 1 this week. All right, but what do we got? Let's talk about football, fuck it. We'll just touch on this real quick. What just happened today is we're recording this, but it just happened today, right? That fabulous Las Vegas Raiders picked up for cousins. Yeah. Yeah, I'm looking forward to that. I know, 809 old is one, right? Or whatever the fucking name 80 and something, right? I see OK. Is the Purdue guys still there? And if you're still there, not-- I mean, all right, Gito's not there, right? No, but Mendoza's going to be there by month, so. Oh, that's right. They didn't get the first drum pick, you know? So Mendoza's going to say-- People are saying that it's a really sneaky, like, bet to take the Raiders to win the division. Now the chiefs get caught. They caught a back line up. Might not be too bad of a bet plus 2,000. I could see him maybe making a-- I don't know. It's going to be a tough division, though. Yeah. I said, chiefs are getting good. Chargers still have pretty good luck here. That's not worth it, but-- Never is going to be stacked still. What? What'd you say, Chris? Denver's still stacked, so-- Yeah, that's the-- That's going to be a tough division. I don't know. Some people are saying in the Raiders, it's a kind of sneaky bet. I don't agree with it. I think I think I had to pick a team out of that division right now. I'm taking a number. I don't care. The chiefs-- Chiefs have a good team. Chiefs won't last you. Chiefs won't make it again. Chiefs won't make it again. Fuck them. And they can make it. They're not going to win the division. Oh, hell no. Yeah, that-- They'll do better than last year, no doubt, I'm sure. But I just going to be a tough division to navigate to get where they need to. Yeah, I was a little surprised they picked him up. I honestly thought he would have went somewhere else. I would-- I was probably the Zona team to be on the surface with you. What's the contract details? I know they're paying the league minimum while the Falcons are still paying the-- It's like that-- Well, maybe you're getting paid by-- Yeah, you would be getting paid by the Falcons. Raiders are still paying the league minimum every year for the next four years, so 2030. They would-- So they're paying that 1.7 million a year while Falcons are paying like the mind something a year? Wow. That's a hell of a deal on their parades for sure. Yeah. And the next day I saw that. I'm like, interesting. So, maybe it's something to do with this person he bit on the shoulder supposedly. That's incredible. Come on, come on. I thought they had a good shot at it, but they let it slip. Duke was able to beat St. John's. Michigan Alabama game. Talk about just a three point contest pretty much. They were just Boston threes. Michigan entered up. I think unfortunately adopting their game and tried to play fast and you know, do all that kind of shit in the first half, but they adjusted. You can't Michigan State. Good game. You can't had a huge lead in the beginning in Michigan State brought it all the way back. They kept fighting. They kept fighting just like time is those teams to do. But you can't list too much to hold off. Tennessee Iowa State. That was a shocker to me. I mean, Iowa State's big house out. So they're me. Yeah. That's still a little good. Tennessee goodwill coach team, but Iowa State. I just thought they had it, but nope. That was a shocker for sure. Obviously, Duke's in John's pick was just like I was just picking. You know what I mean, I was thinking maybe that would happen. Then wasn't that also the Iowa and. Iowa Nebraska. Yeah. Yeah. That was Friday, what I said, Thursday, then we had Texas and Purdue, probably the best game of the Sui 16. That was insane. My few seconds. I was a great game. Texas Purdue is an awesome game. Iowa and Nebraska. Great game. Nebraska, lots of game pretty much the whole the whole game. And in the last two minutes, Iowa came in and took really never let go of one the game. Sick Illinois Houston upsetting. Houston just put like shit. Pretty much all you can say about that. Arkansas or zone of game. That was not. Arkansas did not look like it. It's all looked like them. Or then Saturday, we had the lead eight. We had Iowa, Illinois, we had a big 10 matchup. Illinois, I also took care of business against Iowa, but it's still a decent game towards the end. They let go or started climbing away, but. Yeah, I always didn't have the depth. Yeah, I was on the game. They kept it close all the way up until the last like five minutes and then like Arizona just just fucking mind the loose and like Purdue could not do anything of stuff. And that was more like the last like eight minutes. Purdue, they went on a crazy run. Purdue can just like stop it. Tennessee Michigan game. Fucking below out. I love it. Michigan look good. Kind of just worries me that like you know, Michigan had kind of too much of an easy opponent in the lead eight and they weren't really tested. So kind of could walk through, but. I guess we'll see how that goes when they got to play Arizona. And then best game of the lead eight ever the game people are going to keep talking about the whole tournament was you kind of Duke. Yeah, do if we the stupid move there, man, the UK they gave mocked up and that dude made a stupid mistake. He didn't need to fight you didn't even do the ball. It was less than 10 seconds to have been filed behind the line. So yeah, dude, that's yeah, Duke, Duke really fucked themselves there. I love I love Dan Hurley. I love you, Conn. And that aspect push because like I think he's legendary coach. He's got built a legendary program over there. I love the same win. I love to see you can Michigan match up. And the final four we got Arizona going against Michigan. And then we got you come going up against Illinois. Good job, Illinois making it this far, man. It's fucking sick. I think there's still going to be tough match against you guys. Thanks, oh, but you come in. I know we're not going to say they saw. I know, but so, but you kind of see, you know, they don't get too over hyped with that win. So hopefully not. So, but. We'll see about that. We got what two one seeds and a three seed and a two seed. So. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Hmm. Oh, Saturday starting at six o'clock Illinois, you come. We got a three, two, one, one. Now Michigan Arizona games going to be good. It'll be good. I think that's going to be a better game than you come. No, they're both going to get so. Good final four. Yeah, very solid. Are those four is hard to pick a winner. So. All right. Um, then while we got the frozen for hockey, um, how's that been going to have really kept up too much with it? I know we are. Michigan, uh, still alive. Wisconsin still alive. Western lost. Yeah, Western lost. And that would have been amazing if they were to one because the matchup going in that and for the four would have been Michigan and Western Michigan. I would have been sweet. But they ended up losing to Denver. Oh, did it. Yeah, six to two. And then Michigan beat Minnesota, Duluth, four to three. Michigan State and West Concentred. Wisconsin won that four to three. And then North Dakota just stopped Quinnipag five zero. So your. Your semi finals is Michigan versus Denver. She got number one going against unranked Denver. And then you got unranked West Concentred going against number two, North Dakota. I love to see Michigan, West Concentred. I don't know if West Concentred will get past North Dakota, but um, North Dakota, that thing. Yeah, they're number two seed. So they went through actually both of their games. They went. They didn't have any points scored against them. So they beat Marimack three to zero. Wow, but Denver, you know, Denver is Michigan is going to. Prior to pretty tough game against Denver, though, too, because it's Denver put up five against Cornell and then they put six up against Western. So. Should be some pretty good matchups. Those those games don't happen until April night. Kind of crazy. One they got a while. Yeah, they got a while for that. So, um, but yeah, shaping up pretty good. Hoping Western would make it back again, but. Sorry. Good. Michigan will win and then Western can go back at it next year. So, um, one thing to know, I know the girls basketball still going on. UConn is still undefeated at 38 and zero. UConn girls. Yep. And you can both have a shot at it. Are they in the follow for themselves or no? Yeah, they are. Okay. Yeah, I saw that as like, wow, is the. Progressive. And it's all number one teams are in the final four. It's Texas UCLA and then South Carolina, UConn. All number one seeds. Wow. I saw the LSU buzzer be that one was crazy. So, yeah, UConn has a chance for both men's and women's. So it might be wild. It would be wild. All right. Go Michigan in both, frozen for paying the final four. Or whoever I don't care, whatever. It wins the win. My bracket's still alive, so is it? No. I got UConn Michigan playing for the championship.
